Sometimes twilight offers beautifully subtle light as was the case this morning in the Uinta Mountains. With no cloud cover today, my interest was photographing the first rays of sun on the 11,500 foot summit of Mount Watson. But my favorite image of the morning may have happened before sunrise as a soft pink tone settled over the scene. The slight riffle on the water was pleasing following yesterday's cold wind. Trout are still rising to the surface on this lake and a bald eagle sliced silently through the air moments after I made this photograph. October 6, 2013.
